Water Damage Restoration

Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

Available through independent local providers in 1233 cities across 50 states.

Scoped on site by the contractor who visits - never over the phone.

What it is

Extraction is getting the free water out of the building before it becomes part of the building. Standing water climbs drywall, soaks subfloor and runs along framing by the hour, and every inch it travels is material that will later have to be dried or removed. It is the one stage where speed changes the size of the whole job.

When it is needed

Any water on a floor that is not going away on its own: a burst or split supply line, an appliance that let go, a backed-up drain, a tub or toilet overflow, or storm water that found its way inside. Whether the water is still visible matters less than whether it was there; a floor that has already absorbed it needs extraction just as much.

What it typically involves

Truck-mounted or portable extractors pull standing water off hard floors and out of carpet and pad. Weighted extraction tools press water up out of the pad rather than skimming the surface. Furniture is lifted or moved, and the wet edge is metered and marked while the water is coming out, because the boundary is easier to find while it is fresh. Extraction ends when nothing more can be pumped; what remains is a drying job, and the equipment for that goes in the same day.
