Structural Drying & Dehumidification in Exeter, CA
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
How is the wall wet when it has barely rained?
Because the water is coming from the ground rather than the sky. The render is carried down into the soil instead of stopping clear of it, so it is in continuous contact with damp earth and draws moisture up into the wall. With twelve inches of rain a year, that is the larger source by a distance.
Where does the damage show first?
At the bottom plate and the base of the board inside, because that is the lowest timber in the wall and the moisture is arriving from below. The wall reads dry at hand height and wet at the floor, which is the opposite of what a roof or window problem produces.
Does drying it solve the problem?
Only until the ground next gets wet. The wall comes back readily enough in air this dry, but the render is still in the soil and will draw again, so the base of the wall has to be separated from the ground for the repair to hold. That is a construction change rather than part of the drying.
