Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in High Point, NC
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the wall beside the fireplace always the damp one?
Because of what is attached to it. An external chimney is a large mass of brick exposed on three sides, and it takes up a great deal of water and releases it slowly, much of it into the junction with the wall it is built against. That wall is being fed by the chimney rather than by anything indoors.
Does the chimney have to dry before the wall will?
Effectively, yes, and that sets the schedule. Masonry of that thickness releases from its faces over weeks rather than days, so a wall dried and closed while the chimney beside it is still loaded will come back. Readings are taken on the masonry as well as on the framing.
Does the chimney pull away from the wall over time?
It opens, and then it lets water in as well as out. Brick and timber frame move differently through a year of temperature and moisture, so the junction between a chimney and the wall gradually works loose, which turns a slow absorption problem into a direct route. That joint is inspected along its height.
