Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Brookhaven, MS

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

How is a wet wall found behind paneling?

By taking readings at the joints and at the bottom edge rather than off the face. The sheet itself is thin and does not carry moisture the way board does, so a surface meter reads the panel and not the wall, and pins have to go past it. Where the readings are ambiguous the panel comes off.

Does the paneling come off or stay?

It usually comes off, because it is what stands between the equipment and the wall. Some of it can be lifted carefully and put back, which is worth doing where it matches nothing available now. What cannot happen is leaving it up and drying the room, because the cavity behind it will not change.

Is there a better or worse time of year for this?

Not really, and that is the difficulty. The wettest month is January, but it never gets cold enough here for the indoor air to become genuinely dry, so there is no season in which the building helps. A closed wall is dried by equipment in exactly the same way in January as in July.
