Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Cody, WY

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

A beam got wet. Can it just be replaced?

Rarely without a great deal of work. Exposed timber here is usually structural and finish at the same time, so taking it out means shoring the building and matching a member that will be visible forever afterwards. It is nearly always dried in place instead, which takes longer and is the cheaper outcome by a wide margin.

Why is the drying deliberately slowed down?

To stop it checking. A large solid timber holds moisture deep inside, and air this dry pulls the outer face down far faster than the core can follow. That gradient opens splits along the length of the member, which are permanent and visible. The chamber is held at a controlled humidity rather than driven as low as it will go.

How is a member like that actually read?

With long pins driven well into the section, at several depths, rather than with a surface meter. A face reading on a heavy timber in dry air is meaningless within a day. The numbers that matter come from inside the member, they fall slowly, and the run continues until the readings at depth stop moving.
