24/7 Emergency

24/7 Emergency Water Extraction in Mount Pleasant, SC

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows. Free water is pumped and extracted first, from hard floors and out of carpet and pad, before it climbs further into drywall and subfloor. The wet edge is metered and marked while the water is fresh, and drying equipment goes in the same day, because extraction is where the size of the job is decided.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

The house is elevated. Where does the drying actually happen?

Mostly underneath, at the floor framing. In elevated construction the wet assembly after a ground-level event is the underside of the floor rather than the rooms, so air is directed at the joists and subfloor from below and readings are taken there. What is in the rooms above is often dry while the structure carrying them is not.

How long does an August loss take here?

Longer than the same loss in spring. August is the wettest month at over seven and a half inches and the air through late summer is warm and already carrying a great deal of moisture, so opening the building achieves nothing and dehumidification does all the work. Equipment time is planned generously from the start rather than extended later.

Does the siding have to come off?

Sometimes at the base course. Fiber-cement sheds water well but the bottom edge sits closest to grade and can hold it against the sheathing behind, which is what actually needs reading. If meter readings at the bottom of the wall stay high after the interior is dry, that course comes off so the sheathing can be dried directly.
