Structural Drying & Dehumidification in Sunbury, PA

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the downspout actually go?

Into a pipe buried at the base of the wall, which was meant to carry the water out to the street or a drain. In houses of this age those runs are original and many of them have collapsed or silted up, so the water goes into the ground right beside the foundation instead.

What test shows whether the buried line is working?

Putting water into the downspout and watching what happens at the bottom, which is usually the whole of it. If it backs up, surfaces at the base of the wall or simply disappears without reaching the outlet, the buried run is not doing its job. It takes a few minutes.

What stops a buried downspout line feeding the wall?

Taking the water somewhere else, which usually means bringing the downspout above ground and running it clear of the building rather than excavating the original line. It is inexpensive and it removes a source that has been feeding the foundation for decades.
