Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Del City, OK

The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

What is the frieze board doing?

Closing the top of the wall. It caps the cladding and meets the soffit above, so the assembly is sealed at that line. It is also a wide flat board facing the weather at the height where driven rain hits hardest, and it has usually shrunk, cupped or lost its paint film decades ago.

Why is water at that height worse than lower down?

Because it has the whole wall to travel down. Water entering at the top plate runs inside the cavity past the insulation, the wiring and the framing, and arrives at the bottom of the wall or the floor structure. The damage appears a long way from the entry point, which is what makes it hard to trace.

How is the joint properly closed?

With a flashing over the board rather than a bead of sealant under the soffit. A metal edge that laps over the top of the frieze and behind the soffit takes water out onto the face of the wall, where it belongs. Caulking the line is what has already been done several times on most of these.
