Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Batavia, NY
Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
Which way is the back apron supposed to fall?
Away from the building, by a noticeable amount. It was poured that way when the house was built. Eighty years of the ground settling beneath it and frost lifting it each winter have tipped it the other way, so it now carries water to the wall rather than off it.
How much water does that actually deliver?
A good deal more than people expect, because it is collecting from an area rather than a line. A back apron and walk can gather several hundred gallons in a heavy June storm, and all of it arrives at one spot against the foundation.
Can it be corrected without replacing it?
Sometimes, by lifting the slab back to grade rather than breaking it out, which is far less work than it sounds. Where the concrete has broken up it has to come out, but a sound slab that has simply tipped is often worth raising.
