24/7 Emergency Water Extraction in Amsterdam, NY

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows. Free water is pumped and extracted first, from hard floors and out of carpet and pad, before it climbs further into drywall and subfloor. The wet edge is metered and marked while the water is fresh, and drying equipment goes in the same day, because extraction is where the size of the job is decided.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

What is the shaft between the buildings for?

Light and air to the middle rooms. The buildings were put up close together and a narrow gap was left so the rooms that would otherwise have no window could have one. It runs the full height with walls on all sides and a drain at the bottom.

Why does it cause trouble?

Because everything that falls into it stays. Rain, leaves and anything dropped from a window collect at the bottom, the one drain there blocks, and the shaft has no sun and no air movement to dry it. It becomes a wet well between two buildings.

How does the water get inside?

Through the windows that open onto it, mostly, and through the walls at the bottom where the water stands. A shaft that has filled is holding water against masonry that was never detailed to be below ground, which is what it effectively becomes.
