Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Wilson, NC
Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
What is missing at the rake?
A metal edge under the covering that projects past the trim and turns down. Its whole purpose is to make water leave the roof rather than curl back under the shingle and run onto the board below. On a lot of this stock the shingles simply overhang the trim and the water follows the underside.
Why does it matter more here than elsewhere?
Because the rain arrives sideways. Tropical remnants push water up the slope and across the gable rather than straight down, so the roof edge is being wetted from below as well as above. In a still climate the same detail leaks far less.
Is it fixable without stripping the roof?
Along the rake, yes, in most cases. The edge can be slid under the first course and fastened, which is a day's work on a house rather than a re-roof. It is worth doing at the same time as any repainting of the trim, since the trim is usually what prompted the question.
