Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Gastonia, NC

The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

Water got into the ducts under the floor. Can they be dried out?

Fiberboard ducting generally cannot. It is a rigid fiber panel with a lining, and once it is soaked it loses its shape and the lining separates, so a wet run is cut out and replaced. Metal ducting in the same position can often be dried and cleaned, which is why the material is established early.

Should the system be switched off straight away?

Yes, before anything else. A blower running with wet ducting under the floor takes moisture from the crawl space and delivers it to every room, so the whole house gets wetter while the system is helping. It stays off for the duration and the drying equipment conditions the building instead.

What else under the floor comes out?

Insulation between the joists and any ground sheet holding water. Wet batt sags and keeps the subfloor damp, and a sheet with water on top of it is a reservoir feeding the space. Both come out early so that the joists and decking can be read with pins, which is what the schedule is actually built on.
