Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Kansas City, KS

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

The meter gives different numbers along the same wall. Which is right?

Both, probably. These walls have usually been patched over the years, so a section of original plaster can sit beside a section of board, and the two materials read and behave completely differently. Readings are taken in each material and interpreted separately rather than averaged, which is what makes a mixed wall confusing.

Can part of a wall be removed and part kept?

It happens routinely here, and it looks odd until you know why. Plaster on lath usually survives a soaking and is worth drying; paper-faced board that stood in water is finished. The removal line follows the material rather than the room, so a wall can end up half opened and half intact.

What is found behind these walls when they come open?

Whatever the last repair left. Sometimes an empty bay, sometimes old fill, sometimes a previous patch closed over damp framing. It is read with pins as it is exposed rather than assumed from the room next door, and the scope frequently grows once the first section is open, which is worth expecting.
