Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Columbus, IN

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the front of the house still reading wet?

Because it is a different wall. Masonry veneer holds a great deal of water and gives it back slowly from one face, while a sided wall dries quickly through the cavity behind it. The same loss on the same house produces very different numbers depending on which elevation it reached.

What happens where the two meet?

That corner gets looked at directly, because it is a junction between systems rather than a continuation of either. The veneer has a cavity behind it and the sided wall does not, so water crossing the corner moves from one behavior to another, and the framing at the junction is read on both sides.

Does that change the schedule?

It usually means two of them. The sided elevations come down at a normal pace and can be closed up, while the masonry front is still releasing for a week or more afterward. Treating the house as one assembly is what leads to a wall being closed over moisture that was still coming out.
