Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in Jackson, GA

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Mold Remediation

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.

Frequently asked questions

How does the heating system wet the wall?

By shedding ice where it stands. A heat pump forms ice on its outdoor coil in cold weather and melts it off periodically, and that water goes straight down onto the pad and the ground beneath, which is usually right against the foundation. Every cold night adds to it.

Why does this not follow the rain?

Because it is not weather. The unit defrosts when it is cold, so the wall is wettest in a dry cold spell and unaffected by a warm wet one, which is the opposite of what people look for. A wall that is damp in January and fine in a March downpour is describing the unit.

What stops the defrost water reaching the wall?

Getting the discharge away from the wall, which is usually a pad, a gravel bed and a bit of fall rather than anything to do with the unit itself. It is inexpensive and it is the only thing that stops it, since the defrost cycle is doing what it is supposed to.
