Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Aventura, FL
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a unit take to dry after water comes from the floor above?
Longer than the same loss in a house, usually a week or more. Concrete releases moisture slowly and only from the face that is open to the room, so the ceiling assembly is the last thing to come down to a number. Drywall partitions and cabinets dry quickly by comparison and are often finished days before the slab above them is.
Does the ceiling in the lower unit have to come out?
Often the board does, though not always the whole room. Water that has run along the underside of the concrete sits above the ceiling in the light coves and soffits, where nothing can reach it. Those get opened, the insulation and any wet framing are pulled, and the concrete above is then dried directly with air moved across it.
Can the unit be lived in while the equipment runs?
Usually yes, if the wet rooms can be closed off. The machines are loud and they raise the temperature of the space they serve, so bedrooms are kept out of the drying chamber where the layout allows it. What does not work is switching everything off overnight for quiet, since a drying run that stops each evening takes twice as long.
