Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Santa Rosa, CA
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
Is a December floor loss slower than the same loss in August?
Two to three times as long as the same loss in August. The crawl space is already carrying moisture, the outside air is close to saturation most days, and there is no help to be had from ventilation. The building has to be closed and dehumidified instead, and ten days to a fortnight is a realistic expectation.
The insulation under the floor is wet. Does it come out?
Yes, in every case. Wet batt loses its loft, holds water against the subfloor and the joists, and cannot be dried in place between them. It is pulled, bagged and replaced after the framing above it reads dry. Leaving it and running equipment underneath is how a floor comes back damp in the spring.
Can the hardwood be dried in place or does it get lifted?
It depends on how long it stood wet and what is under it. Boards that have taken water for under a day over a plank subfloor can often be mat dried from above and will flatten back out. Boards that have cupped hard, or that sat while the crawl space below them stayed damp, are lifted so the subfloor can be reached.
