Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in La Crosse, WI

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Mold Remediation

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a coulee?

A steep-sided valley cut back into the bluffs, which is the characteristic landform here. The uplands above are broad and farmed, and each coulee drains a substantial area of that into a narrow valley floor at the bottom. The valley floor is also the only flat ground, which is exactly why the houses are there.

Why does it flood so quickly?

Because everything arrives at once. A wide upland catchment feeding a narrow steep valley concentrates the flow, and the distance from the top to the houses is short, so a heavy June storm reaches the valley floor within the hour.

What does the runoff carry?

Soil from the farmed uplands, which is the other half of the problem. Water coming down a coulee arrives with a load of fine material that settles out in yards, drains and basements and has to be shovelled rather than pumped.
