Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Glen Allen, VA

The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the crawl space start a job already damp?

Because vented crawl spaces here draw warm moist air in for most of the year and it condenses on the cooler surfaces underneath. By September the space has been humid for months. A loss on top of that begins from a worse position, which is why the drying plan treats the whole space rather than only the area that got wet.

Does the underfloor insulation come out?

Wherever it is wet, yes. Batts between floor joists hold water against the subfloor, lose their shape and sag away from the framing, and they will not dry in place in an enclosed space. They are pulled so the joists and panel can be read and dried directly, and new insulation goes back only after those readings hold.

A line under the floor ran for days before anyone noticed. What does that add?

Mostly scope rather than difficulty. A slow leak in an enclosed crawl space has nowhere to go, so it saturates the insulation, the panel and the joists over a wide area before anything shows upstairs. The drying method is unchanged; what grows is how much insulation comes out and how far along the framing the readings stay high.
