24/7 Emergency
Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in Charlottesville, VA
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Mold Remediation
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.
Frequently asked questions
What is the rotted rock under the soil?
Saprolite, which is bedrock that has weathered in place without being carried anywhere. It keeps the structure of the original rock but crumbles in the hand, and it is far less permeable than the soil above it, so water stops when it reaches it.
Where does water go once it reaches the rotted rock?
Downhill along the top of that layer. It moves as a sheet a few feet underground, following the slope rather than the surface contours, which is why it can arrive at a foundation from a direction the garden gives no hint of.
What kind of drainage actually works here?
Interception uphill of the building, cut down to the rotted rock so it catches the flow rather than passing over it. A shallow surface drain does very little, because what is arriving is already below the surface by the time it reaches the house.
