Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Knoxville, TN

The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

How does a wet crawl space affect the rooms above?

Through the air rather than the floor. A heated house is at slightly lower pressure at the bottom, so it draws air upward out of the crawl through every gap in the floor structure, and in December that means pulling air off a wet dirt floor into the rooms people are using.

Why does this happen in winter?

Because that is when the house is pulling hardest and the crawl is wettest. The heating creates the upward draw, and the wettest month here is December, so the two line up. In summer the same crawl is damp and the house is not drawing from it in the same way.

What is dealt with first?

The crawl rather than the rooms, which surprises people whose complaint is upstairs. Covering the ground, dealing with standing water and closing the worst of the gaps in the floor changes what the house is drawing on, and the rooms above follow without being treated directly.
