24/7 Emergency
24/7 Emergency Water Extraction in Brentwood, TN
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows. Free water is pumped and extracted first, from hard floors and out of carpet and pad, before it climbs further into drywall and subfloor. The wet edge is metered and marked while the water is fresh, and drying equipment goes in the same day, because extraction is where the size of the job is decided.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
Why does an elevator pit collect water?
Because it is the lowest point in the building by design. The car has to land somewhere below the finished floor, so a small pit is formed into the slab. Ground water finding its way in, a plumbing failure on a floor above, or anything running across the lowest level all end up there.
What is the damage when it does?
Usually equipment rather than finishes. The buffers, the wiring and frequently the controller sit at the bottom of the shaft, and none of it is made to stand in water. The shaft itself is a closed space with no ventilation, so what does not damage the equipment stays there as humidity.
Who should deal with it?
The elevator company as well as the restoration contractor, and they need to be involved from the start. The car has to be secured and the power isolated before anybody works in the shaft, and the equipment will need inspecting before it goes back into service whatever the drying finds.
