Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in East Providence, RI

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Mold Remediation

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.

Frequently asked questions

How does a storm door damage the door behind it?

By trapping water and heat. Rain gets past the storm door at its edges and runs down onto the sill between the two, where there is nowhere for it to go and no air movement to dry it. In summer the same gap gets very hot, which cooks the finish off the main door and opens the joints.

What is the first thing to fail?

The bottom rail of the main door and the sill under it. Both are out of sight unless the storm door is opened and looked at deliberately, and both are where water sits. A main door that has begun to swell or a sill that feels soft underfoot is usually well advanced by the time anyone notices.

Is the answer to take the storm door off?

Not necessarily, but it needs to drain and vent. Storm doors have weep openings at the bottom and a vent panel or closer setting that lets the gap breathe; on most of these, both are painted over or long since seized. Clearing them and looking at the sill once a year is the practical answer.
