Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Philadelphia, PA
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
Water came in at the roof, but the wet ceiling is on the second floor. What gets opened?
Every joist bay the water ran through, working from the top down. In a house one room wide the water follows the bays and the stair opening, so it can leave the third floor dry and soak the second. The contractor opens the ceiling under each wet bay, dries it with air movers and a dehumidifier, and reads the joists floor by floor until each one holds the standard.
How long does the kitchen ceiling take to dry where the back of the house steps down?
About a week once that bay is open, longer if it had been running all summer. The ell roof meets the main wall in a flashed seam, and water that gets past it sits in the ceiling over the kitchen with nowhere to go. The contractor opens the bay, pulls the wet insulation, runs air and dehumidification into it, and reads the joists until they hold. The flashing is rebuilt before the ceiling is closed.
The house is three floors and one room wide. Where does the equipment go?
On the floor being dried, one level at a time. There is no hallway to stage in, so the contractor puts the air movers and the dehumidifier in the room that is wet, closes the open stair above it with plastic, and moves the whole set up a floor as each level reaches the standard. Running all three floors at once only pushes wet air up the stairs into dry rooms.
