Structural Drying & Dehumidification in West Carrollton, OH
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the footing drain actually go?
Into the sanitary lateral, on most houses of this age around here. It was ordinary practice when they were built, so the pipe collecting water from around the foundation and the pipe carrying the house waste are the same pipe once they leave the building.
Why does a slow drain wet the basement?
Because the foundation is relying on that line as well. When the lateral is partly blocked or surcharged it cannot take the footing water, which then has nowhere to go but back into the ground around the wall and through it. The wet basement is a symptom.
Is it worth separating the two?
Usually yes, and it is a real excavation rather than a small job. Putting the foundation drainage onto its own outlet takes the basement off the fortunes of the sewer entirely, which is worth knowing about before spending money on the inside of the wall.
