Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Springfield, OH
Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
Why is one half of the floor drying and the other not?
Because there are two different spaces underneath it. Part of the house sits over a basement, which is warmer and enclosed, and part sits over a shallow crawl that stays cold and damp into the spring. The same water in the same floor behaves completely differently depending on which side of the change it is on.
Where does the substructure change?
Usually nowhere you can see from the room. The join is under the floor and the finishes run straight over it, so it is found from below or by following the framing rather than by looking at the house. Establishing where it is comes first, because it decides how the drying is set up.
Does the crawl side need different equipment?
It needs more of it and for longer. A basement can be closed up and conditioned reasonably easily; a shallow crawl is cold, has a ground surface and very little headroom, so moving air through it is harder and the material in it holds moisture. The crawl half is almost always the last part signed off.
