Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Parma, OH
Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
Half the basement is finished. Does the whole room get treated the same?
The drying target is the same but the work is not. On the open side the block is already exposed and can be read and dried directly. On the finished side the panelling and furring have to come off first, because the gap behind them holds water that no amount of air movement in the room will reach. The two halves finish at different times.
The heaviest rain is in July. Why does that matter?
Because the house is sealed and cooled then rather than heated. Through winter a running furnace makes the indoor air very dry and helps pull moisture out of an open cavity. In midsummer that help is gone, the outdoor air is humid, and the air conditioning removes only a fraction of what a dehumidifier does, so the equipment carries the job.
Is panelling ever dried in place?
Not when water reached behind it. Panelling is fixed to furring strips against masonry, leaving a narrow gap that traps water out of reach. The panelling and furring come off wherever the meter finds moisture, the block is dried exposed, and nothing is refastened against it until readings at the base of the wall hold steady.
