Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in Newark, OH

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Mold Remediation

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.

Frequently asked questions

This house has a basement and a crawl space. Do they dry at the same rate?

No, and treating them as one space is how half a job gets closed early. A heated basement sits inside the building envelope and dries with the house; an enclosed crawl space is cold, still and cut off from it, so it lags badly. Each is read on its own framing, and equipment usually stays in the crawl space well after the basement holds.

The crawl space was pumped out. Why is equipment still running down there?

Because removing standing water is only the first step. The soil, the joists and the subfloor all absorbed moisture while the water sat, and an enclosed crawl space has almost no air exchange to carry it away. If it is closed up at this point, that moisture moves upward into the floor. The space is dried and read before it is closed.

Do basement stairs have to be replaced after a loss?

Not usually, but they are watched. Stair stringers sit directly on the slab and wick water up the end grain, which is slow to release and easy to miss because the treads above look fine. The base of the stringers is read with a meter, and the stair is dried in place unless the wood has gone soft where it meets the floor.
