Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in Middletown, OH

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

  • Mold Remediation

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.

Frequently asked questions

What makes the relief valve open?

Pressure or temperature beyond what the tank should hold. It is a safety device and it is supposed to release rather than let the tank build, so water on the floor beneath it means it has done its job. The question is why: a failing thermostat, or pressure in the system with nowhere to go.

Why does it end above the floor rather than at a drain?

So that a discharge is visible and so the line cannot siphon or be blocked. It is deliberate. The drawback is that what it discharges lands on the basement floor, and a valve that has started weeping rather than opening properly will do that slowly for weeks without anybody noticing.

Is a weeping valve worth acting on?

Yes, and not only for the water. A valve that drips is either faulty or telling you the system pressure is too high, and the second of those is working on every fitting in the house. Replacing the valve without asking why it opened leaves the underlying condition in place.
