Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in Delaware, OH
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Mold Remediation
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.
Frequently asked questions
Why is carpet removed after a softener overflow when the water looked clean?
Because it is not clean. Brine carries salt in solution, and salt stays in the fibers and the pad after the water is gone, drawing moisture back out of the air for years and leaving a covering that never reads properly dry. The carpet and pad come out and the concrete underneath is rinsed before drying starts.
Is a May basement loss slower than a February one?
Longer than the same loss in February, often by several days. The floor is still cold from winter while the outside air has turned humid, so any ventilation brings in moisture that condenses on the concrete. The building is closed and dehumidified instead, and eight to twelve days is a fair expectation for a finished lower level.
When can the finished basement be closed back up?
When the concrete and the wood framing both hold steady readings across several days, not when the room looks right. A poured wall behind studs is the last thing to come down, and it is read through the opening made at the base. Closing on the board alone is how a lower level is opened a second time the following summer.
