Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in White Plains, NY
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
What does a drip edge do?
It is a strip of metal along the eave that the shingles overhang, shaped so that water leaving the roof is thrown clear and lands in the gutter rather than curling back under the edge. It costs very little and it was routinely left off.
Where does the water go without one?
Backwards. Water running off a shingle edge with nothing to break it follows the underside of the shingle and runs down the fascia board behind the gutter, so the gutter stays clear and the timber behind it is wet after every storm.
When can it be fitted?
At the next roof replacement, easily, and it is worth insisting on it then. Retrofitting one under existing shingles is possible but fiddly and risks damaging the course above, so unless the fascia is already failing it usually waits for the reroof.
