Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Las Vegas, NV

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Frequently asked questions

How long does drying take here after a water heater fails?

Two or three days for drywall and framing in a sealed room, which is about as fast as it gets anywhere. Las Vegas air is dry year-round, so the equipment reaches the standard quickly. The slab is the exception: concrete that held water under a floor for a while is read daily and can take a week even in the desert.

Does vinyl plank flooring come up after a leak in a newer house?

Usually, over the wet area. Floating vinyl plank traps water on the slab underneath, where no equipment reaches it from the room, and the joints swell within a day. The contractor lifts the floor, dries the slab to a reading, and the planks are relaid or replaced afterward. Tile hides the same problem and is metered through the grout.

Can drywall be dried in place in this climate?

Often, when the water was clean and it is reached within a day. The dry desert air lets a sealed room pull moisture out of drywall before it softens, so the contractor reads the sheet and dries it in place when the numbers drop fast enough. Drywall that stood in water or wicked a contaminated source still comes out.
