Structural Drying & Dehumidification in Plainfield, NJ
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
Nothing showed until the first floor ceiling stained. How far back does this go?
Often days. A failure on a closed top floor has two floors of framing to fill before it reaches a ceiling anyone looks at, and nothing up there is heated or occupied to make it obvious. By the time it shows below, the wet area covers three levels, and the top floor is where the work starts rather than where it ends.
Why is the wall being opened at the bottom when the leak was at the top?
Because that is where the water is. In houses of this period the stud bays often run uninterrupted for the full height of the wall, so water entering at the top falls all the way to the sill plate. The bottom of the bay is the wettest part and the least ventilated, and it is opened to be read and dried.
What should be checked on the top floor before the job closes?
The framing it started in, and the route it took. Readings are taken in the room the failure happened in, in the bays below it, and at the sill. The top floor is easy to forget once the occupied rooms are finished, and a closed unheated space that is still holding water is the reason a job of this kind comes back.
