Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Atlantic City, NJ
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the wall wet a foot up when the water was only on the floor?
Because drywall wicks upward from the bottom plate, and at ground level the plate sits close to grade with little underneath it. Water reaches the plate and moves up the board from behind, so the face looks sound while the cavity is not. The cut is made above the wet line the meter finds, not at the waterline on the surface.
The rain is heaviest in March. Why does that make it worse?
Because the building is still closed and the outdoor air is cool and carries moisture without giving much back. There is no warm dry stretch to help, and the heating season is winding down, so the very dry indoor air of midwinter is gone too. Jobs starting in early spring lean entirely on equipment.
Can a loss in one unit be dried without entering the next?
Not reliably, in dense attached construction. Water moves along shared bottom plates and floor framing, and the adjoining unit is frequently wet before anyone there notices. Readings are taken on both sides where access allows, and the opening follows the wet framing. Drying one side only leaves water in the assembly between them.
