Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Butte, MT
Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
Why will the wall not dry until spring?
Because the outside of it is frozen. With seven months averaging lows below freezing, the ground against the wall is locked for a long stretch and the masonry cannot release anything in that direction. Everything it is holding has to come into the room, slowly, or wait for the thaw.
Does that mean waiting?
Not waiting so much as working with the one direction available. The room side is opened and conditioned so the wall has somewhere to give its moisture to, and the readings are expected to come down slowly. Trying to push it faster does not change what the ground outside is doing.
Why does a loss from the autumn show up in April?
Because the freeze held it. Water that got into the wall before the ground locked stays in the masonry through the winter without moving, and when the thaw comes it is released all at once into a building that has had no sign of it for months. The date it appears is not the date it happened.
