Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Billings, MT
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
The lower level of a split-level is half below grade. Does it dry like a basement or a room?
Both, and the contractor reads it as two jobs. The buried wall and the slab behave like a basement: concrete releases water slowly and is read for a week or more. The framed wall on the high side behaves like any room and dries in days once the base is open. Carpet and pad come out along both, and the equipment runs until the slab reading holds.
The sump line froze and the basement flooded. What comes out?
Carpet, pad, and the lower drywall the water touched, because water that has been through the sump has been through soil. The contractor extracts, removes those, dries the slab and the wall base in a sealed run, and the scope names the discharge line as the thing to reroute above the frost line before next winter.
The lower level was dried with fans for a week. Why does the base of the wall still read wet?
Because fans dry surfaces and the water is in the cavity. The bottom plate and the back of the drywall sit on a slab that wicks, and a closed wall does not get the room's dry air. The contractor cuts the drywall at the base, runs air into the cavity with a dehumidifier in the room, and reads the plate. Once the cavity is open it is a matter of days.
