Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Lakeville, MN

The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

What is the sheet behind the wall board?

A vapor barrier on the warm side of the insulation, standard for a climate with five months below freezing. It stops indoor moisture reaching the cold part of the wall in winter, which is exactly what you want. After a loss it becomes the reason a wet cavity has no way to dry toward the room.

Does that mean the wall has to be opened every time?

Where the cavity is wet, yes. There is no drying a sealed bay from the room side, because the sheet is doing precisely what it was installed to do. The board and the sheet come off along the wet run, the insulation comes out, and the bay is dried open before it is rebuilt.

Why does the wall surface read dry?

Because the board is not in contact with the wet part. The sheet separates the finish from the insulation and the framing behind it, so a surface meter reports a dry face over a saturated bay. Readings have to go past the barrier, and where there is any doubt the wall is opened rather than trusted.
