Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Huntingtown, MD
Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
What is the buried loop for?
Heating and cooling. A ground-source heat pump circulates fluid through several hundred feet of pipe buried in the garden, taking heat out of the ground in winter and putting it back in summer. On lots this size it was a sensible thing to install.
What happens if the loop leaks?
The system loses pressure and stops working properly, and the fluid goes into the ground. That fluid is usually an antifreeze solution rather than plain water, so a leak is a contamination question as well as a repair, particularly where there is a well on the property.
How is a leak located in a buried loop?
By pressure testing the circuits one at a time rather than by digging, which is why it is worth knowing how the loop was laid out. Where the installation records survive, the search is hours; where they do not, it can mean opening the whole lawn.
