Structural Drying & Dehumidification in Essex, MD
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
How does a yard end up higher than the house?
An inch at a time. Mulch goes down every spring, beds get built up, a walk is laid over the old one and topsoil is brought in to level a low spot. None of it is noticeable on its own, and after sixty years the ground can be six inches higher than it was.
What does that do to the base of the wall?
It puts soil against material that was never meant to touch it. The bottom course of siding, the sill and the framing behind stay damp because the ground holds moisture against them continuously, and water at the surface is already above the level of the floor inside.
What does lowering the grade involve?
Digging out the first few feet around the building to get back below the sill and rebuilding the fall away from it. It is straightforward work on most lots and it addresses the cause, which is unusual: most water problems cannot be solved by moving dirt.
