Mold Removal & Remediation in Newton, MA
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.

Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the sunroom have water running down inside it?
Because it is mostly glass with very little insulation. In a cold month the inside surfaces drop close to the outdoor temperature while the air in the room still carries moisture from the house, so it condenses on the glass and the frames and runs down. Nothing is leaking.
Where does that water end up?
At the base of the glazing and in the floor structure underneath it, and often at the wall where the room meets the house. It arrives in small amounts every cold day rather than all at once, so what is found there is long-standing rather than recent.
Should the room be shut off from the house?
During the drying, usually yes, and often afterward as well. Treating it as part of the same space means the equipment is conditioning a glazed structure it cannot win against. Closing the connecting door lets the house be dried properly and the sunroom dealt with as its own problem.
