Structural Drying & Dehumidification in Medford, MA

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the wall wet at the bottom course only?

Because that part of it was never meant to be below ground. When a basement is dug deeper the original wall stops above the new floor, and what is under it is excavated soil rather than foundation. The lowest visible course is the point where the wall meets that ground, and it takes water there.

Is this a structural concern?

It can be, and it is looked at before anything is dried. A wall whose footing sits above the floor is bearing on ground that has been cut away beside it, and where that has not been properly underpinned the situation is worth understanding. That assessment comes first because it changes what can be opened.

Is a December loss worse than a summer one here?

It sets how hard the ground is pushing. The wettest month is December, when the soil around the building is fullest and the house is closed up, so the wall takes the most water in the season with the least ventilation. The same basement in August is usually much drier at the same course.
