Ceiling & Roof Leak Water Damage Repair in Slidell, LA
The leak is traced above the stain and corrected, wet insulation comes out, the cavity is dried to a reading, and only then is the ceiling repaired. The leak is traced uphill from the stain and corrected before anything else. Soaked insulation comes out of the cavity, the framing and the back of the ceiling are dried and read to the dry standard, and only then is the ceiling repaired and painted, so the stain does not return through new paint.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Often needed alongside
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
What is different about this kind of foundation?
The ground under the floor is contained. A slab poured on open grade sits on soil that drains in every direction; here the fill is held inside a continuous wall, so water that gets into it stays within the footprint of the building. That includes rain that soaks in at the edges and anything leaking from below the floor.
How does that change a slab leak?
It keeps the water under the house. There is no lateral escape, so a supply line failing below the slab saturates the fill and the moisture comes up through the concrete across a wide area. Flooring lifts some distance from the leak, and the drying continues long after the pipe is repaired.
Can the fill be dried once it is wet?
Not directly, and that is the difficulty. What can be dried is the slab above it, and that only proceeds as fast as the fill gives moisture back. Floor coverings go down on readings rather than on a schedule here, because a slab over saturated fill will read wet for a long time after everything looks finished.
