Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Irvine, KY

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

What was a springhouse built for?

A small building put over a spring to keep it clean and to use the cold water for storage. Where the house was sited near a reliable spring, which was the usual reason, the structure is still there and the spring is generally still flowing.

What happens when it is abandoned?

The water keeps coming and nobody manages where it goes. The overflow channel that carried it away silts up or is built over, so the flow backs up and finds a new route, frequently toward whatever was built after the springhouse was.

Can a spring be stopped?

Not usefully, and trying tends to make it worse by pushing the water sideways into the ground. The workable approach is capturing it properly and piping it away, which is what the springhouse was doing before it was abandoned. The original channel, where it can still be traced, is generally the right place to put the new pipe.
