Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Olathe, KS

The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope

Often needed alongside

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.

Frequently asked questions

How does a deck cause damage inside?

Through what it is fixed to. The deck is bolted into the band joist, the timber that closes the edge of the floor structure, so water getting behind that connection is in the floor itself rather than running down the outside of the wall. It shows up inside at the rim, below the deck.

Where is the wet area actually found?

From the basement or crawl side, looking at the rim. The band is enclosed on the inside by insulation and often by finish, so it is opened up along the length of the deck and read directly. Looking at the deck from outside says very little about how far the water has gone.

Is this a structural question or a drying one?

It can be both, which is why it is looked at rather than just dried. The band joist carries the edge of the floor and holds the deck fixings, so timber that has been wet repeatedly is checked for soundness as well as moisture. Where it is sound it dries and stays; where it has softened it is a repair.
