Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Fort Wayne, IN

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a porch roof leak at the wall?

Because that is where the water has to get past the building. A porch roof pitched this gently moves water slowly, and at the top it meets the house wall, where a strip of flashing tucked up behind the siding is the only thing turning it back out. Everything depends on that strip.

Why does the damage appear indoors rather than on the porch?

Because the junction is above the porch ceiling and inside the wall. Water getting past the flashing is already behind the siding at that point, so it runs down within the wall of the house and shows in a room, while the porch below it stays perfectly dry.

What does putting that flashing right involve?

Taking the siding off above the porch roof for a course or two, which is more work than it sounds and a good deal less than replacing a roof. The flashing is renewed and lapped properly under the wall covering, and it is worth doing while anything else is open up there.
