Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Twin Falls, ID

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

Why does water arrive at the foundation when it barely rains?

Because it cannot soak away. There is very little soil before the rock starts, so what does fall moves across the top of the stone rather than draining down through ground, and a building sitting in that shallow layer is in the path. The volume is small and it has nowhere else to go.

Why are there so few basements?

Because digging one means going into rock. The soil layer is thin, so an excavation of any depth stops being earthmoving and becomes breaking, which is expensive. Most of these houses sit on a slab or a shallow crawl for that reason rather than by preference.

Can foundation drainage be installed?

With difficulty, because it has to discharge somewhere. A drain works by taking water to a lower point, and on shallow ground over rock there often is not one within reach. The practical approach is usually keeping water away from the building above ground rather than collecting it below.
