Structural Drying & Dehumidification in Oxford, GA
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
How does board and batten keep water out?
By covering the gaps rather than lapping over them. The boards run vertically with a space between, and a narrow batten is nailed over each gap. It works while the batten stays put and while the boards have not shrunk away beneath it.
Why do the joints open?
Because timber moves across its width far more than along its length. Vertical boards shrink sideways as they age, widening the gap under each batten, and the nails through the batten hold it in one place while the boards move under it.
Where does the damage concentrate?
At the bottom. Water entering behind a batten has a clear vertical run all the way to the sill with nothing to interrupt it, so the base of the wall takes what the whole height has collected rather than it spreading out.
