Groundwater & Basement Water Intrusion in Boca Raton, FL

Basement seepage, failed sumps and water through the slab are extracted and dried, and the path from the ground is found so the floor stays dry next season. The path from the ground is named first: through the wall, up through the slab, back through a drain, or from a sump that stopped. The space is extracted and dried, with the porous materials the water touched removed, and the delivery is addressed, because a dried floor only stays dry if the water stops arriving.

Often needed alongside

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Emergency Water Extraction

Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

Frequently asked questions

The ceiling is wet and the roof is fine. Where is it coming from?

Most likely the deck above that room. A terrace built over living space has a waterproof layer under its tile, and once that fails the water is inside the deck structure rather than on top of it. It then finds a path down into the ceiling below, often some distance from wherever the membrane actually gave way.

Does the deck have to be taken up?

Usually, at least along the wet run. The membrane is buried under a mortar bed and tile, so it cannot be inspected or repaired from above without lifting the finish. It is also the only way to dry the fill underneath, which holds a great deal of water and will keep feeding the ceiling if it is left.

The surface has been patched. Why is the ceiling still wet?

Because the fill under the deck is still holding what it took in. Lightweight concrete soaks up a lot and releases it slowly downward, so sealing the top face only stops it getting worse. The deck is read with a probe and dried from below, and the ceiling stays open until both are steady.
