Storm & Flood Damage Recovery in Apopka, FL
The opening is closed, the water is extracted, materials floodwater touched come out, and the structure is dried and rebuilt in that order. The opening is closed first, with tarps or board-up, so the building stops taking on water. Floodwater is extracted, and the porous materials it touched come out rather than dry, since it crossed ground outside. The structure is dried and re-read, and the rebuild waits until the readings and the roof both allow it.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading.
Frequently asked questions
The leak was upstairs. Why is the downstairs ceiling being opened so wide?
Because an engineered floor system carries water sideways along the webs before it drops. The wet patch below marks where it finally came through, not where the fixture is, so the ceiling is opened along the framing until dry members are reached. Wet insulation in that cavity is pulled at the same time, since it holds water against the board.
Is a second-floor loss quicker to dry than one at slab level?
Usually not, because a floor structure holds water in more places than concrete does. A slab gives its moisture up from one exposed surface; a floor system stacks subfloor, framing and insulation together with a finished ceiling underneath. Once the ceiling is open and the wet insulation is out it moves along, but the wet season air outside offers no help at all.
Does the upstairs floor have to come up as well?
Sometimes, when the covering trapped water against the subfloor. The loss is above the ceiling, so it is reached from below where possible, which leaves the finished floor alone. If the subfloor will not come down to the dry standard from underneath, or the flooring itself has swollen at the joints, it is lifted so the panel can be dried directly.
