24/7 Emergency
Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in Norwich, CT
Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
- Mold Remediation
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a March loss take so much longer than a summer one?
Because cold material will not release. In March the cellar walls and floor are still holding winter temperature, and cold masonry both takes water up readily and gives it back very slowly. The room has to be warmed before the equipment can do much, and that warming is itself several days of the schedule.
Can the cellar be dried at the same time as the rooms upstairs?
It can be started at the same time but it will not finish at the same time. The upper floors are framing and plaster in heated air and normally come down inside a week. The cellar is masonry at ground temperature and runs a week or more behind. Both are read separately and neither is signed off on the other's numbers.
What happens between the water being pumped out and the equipment going in?
Contents out, finishes off the walls, and the space brought up to a working temperature. Porous material that sat in water is removed so it stops feeding the room. Anything fastened to masonry comes off so the wall has an open face. Only then is it worth running machines, because cold wet masonry in a cold room barely responds.
